Eligibility Criteria : General Nursing &
Midwifery
- Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal uninterruptedly for at
least last ten years till 31.12.2023. Female candidates can apply
only.
- Must be able to read, write and express in Bengali and/or Nepali.
- Must pass ‘10+2’ examination from any recognized Board ( Any
discipline) with at least 40% marks in aggregate. ‘Passed’ means
passed in both theory and practical/ project as applicable. Must
pass in English in (10+2) examination.
- The applicant’s age must be at least 17 (seventeen) years as on
31.07.2024 i.e., the applicant should have been born on or before
31.07.2007. No Upper Age Limit
- Vocational Stream :
- i) CBSE Board: Candidates passing (10+2) in
Vocational Stream must be from the Health Care Science
discipline.
- ii) The candidates passing West Bengal Higher
Secondary (Vocational) Examination, 2023 onwards, who opted
for “Healthcare Science” under “Community Healthcare” Group
must pass in any two of the following combination of
Subjects:- Community Health Counselor (COHC), Patient Care
Assistant (PTCA), Public Health & First Aid (PHFA)
- iii) The candidates who passed West Bengal Higher
Secondary (Vocational) Examination prior to 2023 with
“Community Healthcare” Group under “Home Science” Discipline
with combination of 3 vocational papers namely: Community
Nutrition, Hospital Management, Public Health & First Aid
shall also be eligible for making application for the GNM
2024
- All candidates must be medically fit for the course and must
produce a Medical Fitness Certificate at the time of admission.
Eligibility criteria : B.Sc. Nursing
- Age Between 17 to 35 years as on 31 st December 2023, Year of
admission.
- Only female candidates who are physically and mentally fit to
undergo training are eligible to apply.
- Candidates must pass (10+2) examination from any recognized
Board/Council with at least 45% in aggregate ( 5% relaxation for
reserved category ).
- Candidates must pass the subjects with individual pass marks ( in
both theory and practical separately ) in Physics, Chemistry and
Biology (PCB) and must have pass marks in English Core / English
Elective.
- The candidate must be citizen of India and a permanent resident of
the district of West Bengal ( from where the candidate applies)
residing uninterruptedly for at least ten years preceding the date
of submission.
- Candidates must be able to read, write and express Bengali/Nepali/
English.
Application Procedure
- Prospectus cum Application Form will be available ( against
payment of Rupees 1500/- ) in Brainware University website at www.brainwareuniversity.ac.in/nursing
. (NO REQUEST FOR SENDING THE PROSPECTUS CUM APPLICATION
FORM BY POST WILL BE ENTERTAINED).
- Students have to fill-in enquiry form for admission proceedings.
Students will be selected on basis of marks in last qualifying
examination and score on personal interview round.
- Candidates have to submit the following documents (self attested
) along with the duly filled up application form.
- Class 10 – Admit card, mark sheet, certificate
- Class 10+2 – Admit card, mark sheet, certificate
- Character / school leaving certificate
- Original copy of the Residential Certificate issued only
by the Government Gazetted Officer of the concerned
district where the candidate resides / Sabhadhipati of
local Zilla Parishad / Sabhapati of local Panchayat
samity / Prodhan of local Gram-Panchayat / Mayor or
Councillor or local Municipal Corporation / Chairman of
local Municipality / Ward Councillor of local
Municipality / local M.P. / local M.L.A. mentioning that
the candidate has been residing there permanently or for
the period of last five years uninterruptedly.
- Caste certificate issued by (a) Sub-Divisional Officer
of the Sub-Division concerned district (b) Kolkata
District Welfare Officer, Kolkata/ Ex-Officio Jt.
Director or Deputy Director, Backward Class Welfare
Department ( Applicable for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates
only ).
- Orphanage and inmate-ship ( at least 5 years ) in the
concerned Destitute Homes recognized by the Social
Welfare Department / Child Rights & Trafficking
Department, Govt. of West Bengal ( Applicable for
Orphanage/Inmates of Destitute Homes).
- Medical certificate as per prescribed format only for
selected candidates.
