Brainware University (BWU) is a full-fledged University established on 25th February, 2016 under the West Bengal Act XXXI of 2015 as Brainware University Act, 2015 passed by the West Bengal Legislature. It is a UGC recognized unitary University with the right to confer degrees as per Section 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956.

Brainware University is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India established for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education in India.

Brainware University is now recognized by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) as Scientific & Industrial Research Organization (SIRO).

Ministry Of MSME

Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (M/o MSME) envision a vibrant MSME sector by promoting growth and development of the MSME Sector, including Khadi, Village and Coir Industries, in cooperation with concerned Ministries/Departments, State Governments and other Stakeholders, through providing support to existing enterprises and encouraging creation of new enterprises.

Ministry of MSME has recognized Brainware University as Host Institute (HI) to setup/establish Business lncubation (BI) to provide 'Support for Entrepreneurial and Managerial Development of MSMEs’.

Pharmacy Council Of India (PCI)

The Pharmacy education and profession in India upto graduate level is regulated by the PCI, a statutory body governed by the provisions of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 passed by the Parliament. Main objectives of PCI are towards Regulation of the Pharmacy Education in the Country for the purpose of registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, and, Regulation of Profession and Practice of Pharmacy.

Association Of indian Universities (AIU)

Brainware University is now recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The AIU Governing Council in its 349th Meeting, granted provisional membership of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to Brainware University, Barasat.

The Indian Nursing Council is a national regulatory body for nurses and nurse education in India. It is an autonomous body under the Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, constituted by the Central Government.

West Bengal Nursing Council (WBNC)

The nursing profession in West Bengal is regulated by the West Bengal Nursing Council, a statutory body governed by the provisions of The Bengal Nurses (West Bengal Amendment) Act, 1949. The main objectives of the WBNC are to provide safe nursing service to the public and also to provide a sound, uniform system of education based on scientific knowledge.

Bar Council Of India (BCI)

The Bar Council of India was established by Parliament under the Advocates Act, 1961. It performs the regulatory function by prescribing standards of professional conduct and etiquette and by exercising disciplinary jurisdiction over the bar. It also sets standards for legal education and grants recognition to Universities whose degree in law will serve as qualification for enrolment as an advocate.

Computer Society Of India (CSI)

Formed in 1965, the CSI has been instrumental in guiding the Indian IT industry down the right path during its formative years. Today, the CSI has 72 chapters all over India, 511 student branches, and more than 100,000 members, including India’s most famous IT industry leaders, brilliant scientists and dedicated academicians. The mission of the CSI is to facilitate research, knowledge sharing, learning and career enhancement for all categories of IT professionals, while simultaneously inspiring and nurturing new entrants into the industry and helping them to integrate into the IT community.

Brainware University’s Institute Innovative Council (IIC) got established in year 2018-2019 under Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India. The main focus of BWU IIC is to foster culture of innovation among students.

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA)

The Mission of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is to enable higher educational institutions to work with the people of rural India in identifying development challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth. It also aims to create a virtuous cycle between society and an inclusive academic system by providing knowledge and practices for emerging professions and to upgrade the capabilities of both the public and the private sectors in responding to the development needs of rural India.

British Council

The British Council is recognised across India for its network of eight libraries and cultural centres. It offers a range of specialised projects in arts, education, English language and society to audiences across India and more than 100,000 members. It also provides access to English language training and learning for both students and teachers and enable opportunities to study in the UK.Brainware University Central library has institutional membership with British Council.

Chitrabani is the oldest media training institute in Eastern India. Chitrabani is recognized by the State Government as a voluntary educational institution in the field of social communication. According to its founder-director, Chitrabani is more than an academic institute, and more than a production centre. Through its training, production and research activities, it is a laboratory or experimental centre for creative persons interested in more than business, an educational centre where serious students of the media can find support and exchange ideas, a social centre where persons committed to development can work together.

National Digital Library (NDL)

MHRD, Govt. India under its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology, in association with IIT, Kharagpore, has formed the National Digital Library (NDL) project to develop a digital repository of learning resources with a single-window search facility.

Brainware University has been selected by Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Ministry of Education for the Perennial fund award of Rs. 1,75,000/- out of 289 institutes who have applied for effective delivery of UBA mandate crossing three rigorous stages of the selection process related to Rural Development. Rural development is the process of improving the quality of life and economic well-being of people living in rural areas, often relatively isolated and sparsely populated areas.
