The seminar was organised by the Department of Biotechnology and took place in the university auditorium.

"This session is going to be different from other sessions," Dr Chatterjee announced at the very beginning. "Why are so many people obsessed with government jobs?" he asked. He then himself said that many people have the idea that in the government sector, even if they do not deliver. Dr. Chatterjee highlighted that with such a mindset, people tend to lose out the majority of job prospects that lie in the private sector.

While interacting with the students at the seminar, Dr. Chatterjee said that research has to be done as per the requirement of the society. Furthermore, if there is no commercialisation of the innovations then they are of no use. Hence, one needs to identify the essential areas.
