Prof. (Dr.) Sankar Kumar Ghosh conducted a webinar on 'DNA Barcoding Biodiversity and Healthcare Genomics'

On September 16, 2022, the Department of Biotechnology organised a webinar on 'DNA Barcoding Biodiversity and Healthcare Genomics'. The session was conducted by Prof. (Dr.) Sankar Kumar Ghosh, Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Assam University.

The webinar discussed the large-scale data on popular molecular markers generated from mitochondrial and chloroplast genomes for assigning the Genomics-based DNA-BARCODING and GENOMIC DIVERSITY and explored the species identification and validation of diverse flora and fauna.

From the webinar, the students gained knowledge about DNA Barcoding and its importance in biotechnology, especially in the evaluation and biodiversity area. 180 students and 7 faculty members attended the webinar.
