Securing a successful career

To teach the students how to monitor networking systems and mitigate threats, the Department of Cyber Science & Technology organized a workshop on Cyber Security in a Post-Covid-19 World on February 10, 2021 at 2.30 PM.

The key speaker, Belly Rachdianto, Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) and EC-Council Instructor (CEI), initiated the session by discussing the basic concepts of cyber security and the impact of COVID-19 in the fields of cyber security.

He shared with the students different types of attacks and threats that have been observed in this critical period. He also presented the newly created opportunities in this field. “It isn’t all that bad. As more businesses have been forced to shift online, there has been a huge surge in the requirement of cyber security professionals to protect confidential client information,” he said.

Belly explained how hackers exploit basic loopholes of websites to steal data and how to prevent such theft. He advised students to always “keep learning and doors will open up for you. Global certifications are extremely important in such fields so talk to your professors about this and you will be fine.”
