Our Films, Their Films: Multimedia students conduct and participate in the international short film festival

International short film festival news-203

Everyone has a story to tell! From books to stage to screen to OTT - the medium has changed but the conviction has remained intact! There was a time when filmmakers like Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen, Ritwik Ghatak, Tapan Sinha dominated the silver screen with their exploration of various themes and emotions in celluloid. But does the end of their era mean the extinction of Indian or Bengali cinema?

There are passionate young minds who have a bagful of stories to narrate. They need the opportunity! They need the exposure! In this regard, Brainware University plays a pioneering role in encouraging the students to pursue their passion and make a living out of it in future.

An educational visit to 'Bengal Shorts - International Competitive Short Film Festival' was organised by the Department of Multimedia and Animation from July 1, 2022, to July 3, 2022, at Aikatan, EZCC in Salt Lake. Incidentally, the event was organised by ROSTRUM and was conducted by the Department of Multimedia and Animation, Brainware University, and Deep Focus Cine Club, the cine club of the university.

The Multimedia students also participated in this event to gain experience in silver screen story-telling. The visit to this international short film festival was also an educational exercise for the students of Multimedia as Film Studies as they got the chance to watch the creations of filmmakers from around the world.
