Decoding the Digital Crime Scene!

The Department of Cyber Science & Technology successfully hosted an insightful session on ‘Appreciation of Evidence Connected to Cybercrime (including Cryptocurrencies) in the Courtroom’ with Bidit Mondal, DSP, West Bengal Cyber Crime Wing. With the rise of digital fraud and cryptocurrency related crimes, understanding how evidence is gathered, analysed, and presented in court has never been more crucial. Mondal shared real world insights, stating that a digital footprint is never truly erased, cybercriminals always leave a trace. He also emphasised the importance of knowing where to look. The session provided students with a deeper understanding of digital forensics, cyber investigations, and legal frameworks, leaving them more aware of the evolving challenges in cybersecurity!
