Kudos to the filmmakers: University students secure the top two positions at Akashvani Short Film Competition Winner

Akashvani Short Film Competition Winner

Be it academics or creativity - our students always stand out! The latest recognition came at the Akashvani Kolkata Mobile Short Film Competition as our students secured the top two positions with their short films.

Soham Sadhukhan and Pradipta Das teamed up to portray a heart-wrenching story of 'Sound Pollution' at the competition that won the first position. "We both come from a rural background, and we have experienced how pollution, especially sound pollution adversely impacts the health and livelihoods of the people," they said when asked about their thoughts behind the making of this film.

On the other hand, Ejaz Hussain had a very touching story to share behind the making of this film. "My parents always wanted me to be an Engineer. I used to have my own YouTube channel and a passion for making short films but then I joined the Engineering programme and hardly found any time for all those," said the 3rd-sem AIML student.

"When I came to know about this competition, the script and visuals came to me spontaneously and I can't thank my university enough," said an emotional Ejaz Hussain. He won the second prize in the competition.

The winners were awarded at the auditorium of AIIMS, Kalyani.
