West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme

The West Bengal Government has launched the Student’s Credit Card Scheme . The scheme that is offering a loan of up to 10 lakh rupees that can be repaid in 15 years. For the students who are pursuing

  1. Class X (Ten) and above
  2. Higher Secondary
  3. UG
  4. PG
  5. Professional and Diploma course
  6. Doctoral/Post-Doctoral research course

The students can be from any recognized school, madrasah, college, university or higher
educational institutions within the State, outside Bengal, and even in other countries.

  • Eligibility Criteria for Availing the Scheme: 
  • Living in West Bengal for more than 10 Years in total
  • Have to be a student of undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and post-doctoral study (be it in India or Abroad)
  • Available till the age of 40 
  • Students preparing IITs, IIMs, NLUs, IAS, IPS, WBSC can also get the facilities

  • On left corner of homepage, click on the announcement on Student Credit Card Scheme
  • You can find the registration form present at the page
  • Enter the required details like name, date of birth, gender and others Submit and the
  • registration details will be below 
  • Apply for Student Credit Card Scheme and complete the procedure Download a copy for
  • future reference

  1. Aadhar card 
  2. Residence certificate 
  3. Age proof 
  4. Ration card 
  5. Income certificate
  6. Bank account details 
  7. Mobile number 
  8. Passport size photograph

Benefits of the Scheme:

  • Encouraging the higher studies 
  • The interest rate is 4% per annum 
  • Applicable for the students studying abroad 
  • It covers the course fee, tuition and hostel fee, books, study materials, computers or laptops
  • The loans are under any bank Government, private and even cooperative organizations)

To ensure education and no deprivation from educating on financial grounds, the scheme aims to empower the youth of the state by making them self-reliant.
