About the journal

‘Brainwave: A Multidisciplinary Journal’ (ISSN: 2582-659X), the peer-reviewed open-access e-journal of Brainware University started its journey in April 2020 as a bi-annual journal. It aims at facilitating the students, faculty members, research scholars and other academicians to share their research works in a common forum so that improved decisions can be taken for future research activities. The key focus areas of this multidisciplinary journal include Engineering and Technology, Management, Health Sciences, Law and Social Sciences.

The latest issue (volume 3, issue no.-3) has been published online on September 20, 2022. Going forward, it will be published as a quarterly journal in March, June, September and December.

The Journal Coordinator Speaks

“Right from its inception, we were committed to enhance the quality of the journal. We received the ISSN number in September 2020 and to make the journal popular in academic circles, we circulated it among the higher education institutions within and outside West Bengal. Furthermore, we also requested academicians from other institutions to contribute with their articles. This yielded results with the publication getting some recognition and external contributors coming forward to submit their papers.

We always had a plan to enlist ‘Brainwave: A Multidisciplinary Journal’ under UGC Care. To ensure that, our Honourable Chancellor Sir and Dr. A.B.Bhattacharya, Adjunct Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering who has taken on as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal, have offered certain important suggestions, before the publication of this issue.

The latest issue consists of seven articles which have been selected out of several papers. The selected articles have come from reputed institutions all over India that includes  Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur; Aligarh Muslim University, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Pune; University of Burdwan and others.

For the faculty members and the students from our university who are interested in contributing to the journal, I would like to point out that the basic idea of a paper has to be unique and original. We are also accepting review articles but the ‘Statement of Problem’ in the article should be clear.

We are hopeful that we will be able to develop the journal as a platform for sharing knowledge and ideas.  If this happens, we are certain that we will be able to come up with innovations and this will be a landmark contribution to the field of research from Brainware University.”

From the Editor-in-Chief’s Desk

“A university journal is sort of mouthpiece for the research activities of that university. To ensure the quality of the journal, we have planned to publish the journal in a very accurate way so that we succeed in getting quality papers for future editions of journal which will help in improving the overall standard of the publication. Furthermore, we have taken adequate care for the review process as well and have rejected about 40% of the submitted papers for not meeting the preferred parameters.

We also have good support from the editorial board members. The editorial team consists of 24 members among whom 12 are international scholars. We are in regular touch with them and they have contributed various useful inputs for the papers.

Our primary focus is the overall enhancement of the quality of the journal and so I would like to suggest the prospective contributors to come up with original ideas in their articles. Furthermore, we have to identify the papers that reach a conclusion through their research and findings and also chalk out the prospects for further research in that domain.

We are continuously engaged to increase our reach in the academic circle in India and abroad. ‘Brainwave’ is certainly an important tool in developing a vibrant research culture in our university.”
