The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013 was notified on December 9, 2013, to provide a safe and secure environment for women in the workplace.

Sexual Harassment results in violation of the fundamental rights of a woman to equality under articles 14 and 15 of the Indian Constitution and her right to life and to live with dignity under article 21 of the Constitution and also to practice any profession or to carry on any occupation, trade or business that includes a right to a safe environment free from sexual harassment.

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) has been constituted at Brainware University. The Gender Sensitisation Cell is a wing of this committee that deals with the issue of gender-based violence and conducts gender sensitization programs.
