In order to focus on legal aid activities as part and parcel of law career and to inspire would-be-lawyers who would ultimately take up this noble profession, the School of Law at Brainware University organised a seminar on 'Legal Aid Service for Legal and Vulnerable Groups'

Article 14 of the Indian Constitution reads, “The State shall not deny to any person equality before law or the equal protection of laws within the territory of India.”

LLB course in Kolkata : Novelty of the profession 

At the seminar, Justice Ganguly pointed out the fact that our consititution provides the scope and application of legal aid for the poor and vulnerable groups. Furthermore, he also focused on the novelty and action as this kind of aid is completely non-monetary service which is provided to the poor. 

For the students who are pursuing disciplines like Law, their practical implementation is of immense importance. Due to this, at Brainware University, time and again seminars, webinars, workshops and special lecture sessions with industry professionals are organised for the students. 

Brainware always focuses on industry-oriented learning and so a number of Adjunct Professors  are present to train the students. Also, there are visiting faculty members from various reputed organisations to train and guide the students as per the industry needs and requirements.

LLB course details: School of Law at Brainware University

At present, the School of Law is offering BBA LLB, LLB and LLM programmes. The students who are pursuing LLB and LLM programmes get access to the moot court of the university for practical training sessions. Regular court visits to Barasat, Basirhat, Bangaon, Barrackpore, Alipore, Calcutta High Court and Supreme Court., take place with the students so that they can observe and learn the subtle nuances of the profession they have pursued. 

Legal aid camps and legal aid clinics are arranged to ensure hands-on training for the students.  Furthermore, the students will get the opportunity for internships at corporate houses, lawyers’ chambers etc.

LLB course in Kolkata: Why Brainware University?

In this context, at the recent seminar, Biplab Roy highlighted the different case histories where legal services’ advocates have provided free services to save the down-trodden people. The different provisions of Legal Services Authority Act 1987 was also referred to by Prithwis Ganguly in this regard.

The placement cell of the university is active and is constantly in touch with more than 500 recruiters across the country. In 2021, the university recorded 98% placement.
