Free-of-cost Physiotherapy clinic: Learning experience for BPT students
Apart from ensuring the betterment of the students, the university is always determined towards the betterment of the society. An old saying says, ‘Charity begins at home’, so in an attempt to render services in the neighbourhood, the Department of Allied Health Sciences organised a free-of-cost Physiotherapy clinic at Shishir Kunja in Madhyamgram.
The session was conducted by Sourav Mitra, Program coordinator, Physiotherapy, with the assistance of SK Azher. The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) and Bachelor of Medical Lab Technology (BMLT) students participated in the clinic.
This is a reason for opting Brainware University. Here, tailormade industry-oriented curriculum is offered to the students. At the same time, the students get industry exposure and hands-on training by means of these clinics and outreach programmes that take place frequently.
In this context, it must be pointed out that Brainware University has tie-ups with more than 35 hospitals for internships and placements. These hospitals include Narayana Multi Speciality Hospital, Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Desun Hospital, Medica Superspeciality Hospital and others.

For Allied Health Science students, hands-on training is of utmost importance and that is why the Medical Technology lab, Optometry lab, Basic Science lab, Optometry labs are fully-equipped. The X-ray unit at the Physiotherapy lab is one-of-its kind and is only available at the top hospitals.
Furthermore, health check-up camps are organised by the department at regular intervals so that the students can participate in these camps as observers. This will help to enhance their skills which will help them in their professional career.
Allied Health Science courses: Placement scenario
In addition to all the infrastructural facilities, it must also be noted that Brainware University has an active placement cell. It maintains a network with more than 500 recruiters across the country. The placement cell also organises boot camp sessions and training sessions with industry insiders for improving the communication skills of the students.
