The Shield of Care: National Safe Motherhood Day Nursing 10-04-2026
The Institute of Nursing, Brainware University, successfully organized “The Shield of Care: National Safe Motherhood Day” on 10th April 2026 to raise awareness about maternal health, safe motherhood practices, and emergency obstetric care. The programme aimed to strengthen the knowledge and practical skills of nursing students in maternal and neonatal healthcare management.
The event featured hands-on emergency management drills, poster and slogan competitions, and a Healthy Thali Plan activity focused on maternal nutrition. These activities encouraged students to enhance their clinical understanding, creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork while promoting awareness of maternal and child health.
Through interactive academic and co-curricular sessions, participants gained valuable insights into emergency obstetric response, nutritional planning for mothers, and the importance of safe motherhood practices in community healthcare.
Aligned with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, the initiative promoted maternal health awareness, skill development, and preparedness for quality maternal and neonatal care.
