The interdisciplinary seminar “Nourishing Minds: Exploring the Link Between Food, Nutrition & Psychology” provided a meaningful platform to explore the relationship between nutrition, mental health, eating behaviour, and overall well-being. The programme aimed to create awareness about the interconnection between food, nutrition, and psychological well-being while enhancing participants’ understanding of the gut–brain connection and its role in mental and emotional health. It also focused on healthy dietary practices, food choices, and psychological factors influencing eating patterns. Expert sessions by two registered dietitians and a clinical psychologist offered evidence-based insights into nutrition, healthy eating, eating behaviour, and psychological well-being. The seminar further promoted nutrition and mental health literacy and encouraged an interdisciplinary approach integrating nutrition, dietetics, and psychology, contributing to SDG 2 – Zero Hunger, SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being, and SDG 4 – Quality Education.

The seminar enabled participants to connect theoretical knowledge with practical perspectives on healthy eating, positive eating behaviour, mental health, and holistic well-being. Discussions on the gut–brain connection, healthy dietary practices, and psychological influences on food choices were complemented by an interactive question-and-answer session with the experts. The programme strengthened participants’ awareness of nutrition and mental health while encouraging evidence-based decision-making and more mindful lifestyle practices. By bringing together the perspectives of food, nutrition, and psychology, the initiative reinforced the importance of an integrated approach to health and supported the broader objectives of SDG 2, SDG 3, and SDG 4.
