Safer Internet day 2026 Cyber Science & Technology Computational Sciences 13-02-2026
The Department of Computational Sciences and the Department of Cyber Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Brainware University, successfully organized the Safer Internet Day Celebration Seminar on 13th February 2026 to promote cyber safety, digital responsibility, and secure internet practices among students. Conducted by Hrithik Roy, Assistant Professor, Department of Cyber Science and Technology, and Souvik Bera, Assistant Professor, Department of Computational Sciences, the seminar focused on raising awareness about cyber threats, online frauds, data privacy, and cybersecurity measures. The session featured expert lectures, presentations on common cyber risks, real-world case studies, demonstrations on password protection and phishing prevention, along with interactive discussions and Q&A sessions. With active participation from around 100 students across departments, the seminar successfully strengthened awareness of safe browsing habits, responsible digital behaviour, and cybersecurity preparedness, contributing to the development of informed and secure digital citizens.
