RUN FOR SWADESHI – 2026

The “Run for Swadeshi” was organised on 12th January 2026 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and promote his ideals of patriotism, self-reliance, character building, and service to society. The walkathon witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 130 students, accompanied by Traffic Police officials to ensure safety and smooth conduct. The procession commenced from Champadali More and concluded at Spencers on Taki Road, with students carrying placards featuring inspiring messages and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The initiative encouraged youth participation in social and national causes while fostering unity, discipline, civic responsibility, and awareness about Swadeshi and self-reliance. The active involvement of students and the support of the Traffic Police made the event a meaningful and well-coordinated tribute to Swami Vivekananda. The programme also contributed to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by promoting physical activity, experiential learning, civic awareness, and collaboration between students, the university, and public authorities.
