The Department of Agriculture, Brainware University, organised “Roots to Routes: An Alumni Journey in Agriculture”, an alumni interaction programme aimed at providing B.Sc. (Honours) Agriculture students with practical insights into career opportunities, professional development, entrepreneurship, and diverse pathways in the agricultural sector. The programme featured an interactive session with Mr. Avijit Dasthakur, BDO, Senior Officer, Kharagpur Branch, ESAF Small Finance Bank, who shared experiences from his professional journey following his agricultural education. The session helped students understand career opportunities beyond conventional agricultural roles, the transition from academic learning to professional life, and the importance of developing relevant professional competencies and making informed career decisions. Through discussions and experience sharing, students had the opportunity to seek practical guidance on career development, entrepreneurship, and professional growth. Overall, the programme successfully bridged academic learning with real-world professional experiences, strengthened alumni–student engagement, and contributed to developing meaningful linkages between the university and the professional sector.
