Quiz cum activity on Library Resources and Information Literacy Brainware University Library 12.08.2026
On National Librarians’ Day, Brainware University commemorated the 134th birth anniversary of Padma Shri Prof. S. R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India, along with the 149th birth anniversary of Mr. Harinath De, the first Indian Librarian of the Imperial Library, now known as the National Library of India.
To mark the occasion, a Quiz-cum-Activity on Library Resources and Information Literacy brought together students from different departments, encouraging them to explore the importance of information access, research skills, library resources, and responsible use of information.
Beyond celebrating the legacy of pioneering librarians, the initiative highlighted how information literacy empowers students to find, evaluate, understand, and use knowledge effectively an essential skill for academic success and lifelong learning.
Through such engaging academic initiatives, Brainware University continues to promote a culture of curiosity, knowledge, research, and informed learning among its students.
