Parental Mental Health Awareness & Support Program

Parental Mental Health Awareness & Support Program Mononiketan The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) and NSS  20/06/2026 – 24/06/2026

The Parental Mental Health Awareness & Support Program was organized to highlight the importance of mental well-being among parents and caregivers. Recognizing that parenting can involve significant emotional, psychological, and social challenges, the programme focused on helping parents develop greater awareness of their own well-being and understand its impact on their children’s overall development.

The session introduced participants to the concept and significance of parental mental health, followed by an interactive discussion on common parenting stressors and their psychological impact. Participants were also engaged in discussions on emotional regulation, self-care, stress management, and maintaining a healthy balance between work and family responsibilities. The programme further addressed common signs of stress, anxiety, and emotional burnout, while highlighting healthy coping strategies that can be incorporated into everyday life.

The programme successfully enhanced participants’ understanding of the connection between parental well-being and children’s emotional, behavioural, and psychological development. Active participation and reflections from the parents made the session engaging and meaningful, while the practical strategies shared provided useful guidance for managing parenting responsibilities while prioritizing mental well-being.
