One-Day Industrial Training at Bhatpara Municipality

One-Day Industrial Training at Bhatpara Municipality Civil Engineering 30.03.2026

The Department of Civil Engineering at Brainware University organized an industrial visit for Diploma (Civil Engineering) students to Bhatpara Municipality to provide practical exposure to real-world construction practices. The visit enabled 14 participating students to gain firsthand experience of professional site operations across building, road, and water infrastructure projects.

Through a structured schedule of site visits and technical sessions, students observed key aspects of building construction, including reinforcement detailing, shuttering, formwork, concrete casting, and curing techniques. They also explored road construction processes such as pavement layering, drainage systems, and material testing, along with municipal water treatment operations involving filtration, chlorination, and distribution management.

The visit emphasized essential industry practices such as quality control, safety protocols, and project documentation. Interactive sessions with practicing engineers, including Sri Subhendu Bhattacharyya, provided valuable insights into site management, project execution, and career opportunities in civil engineering.

Overall, the visit proved to be highly informative and enriching, successfully bridging the gap between classroom learning and field applications. It enhanced students’ technical understanding, practical skills, and career awareness, preparing them for future roles in the civil engineering sector.
