The seminar on “Pharmacovigilance for Patient Safety for a Safer Healthcare System” was organised to create awareness among students about medicine safety, pharmacovigilance, and the importance of monitoring adverse drug reactions. The session featured an expert talk by Prof. (Dr.) Suchandra Sen, who highlighted the role of pharmacovigilance in ensuring patient safety and promoting responsible healthcare practices. The programme focused on helping students understand their responsibilities in the safe and rational use of medicines and familiarising them with the identification, reporting, assessment, and prevention of adverse drug reactions.

The expert session provided students with practical insights into medication safety and adverse drug reaction reporting. An interactive Q&A session further encouraged students to clarify their queries and engage with real-world pharmacovigilance practices. Overall, the seminar strengthened students’ understanding of pharmacovigilance and reinforced the importance of their role in contributing to a safer and more responsible healthcare system.
