The programme was organized with the objective of sensitizing students and faculty members to the humanitarian role of pharmacists and their growing contribution to patient-centred healthcare. It focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of the responsibilities of pharmacists beyond conventional dispensing practices, particularly in the areas of patient care, public health, clinical support, and addressing healthcare gaps within communities. The session also highlighted the importance of empathy, ethical responsibility, effective communication, and professional commitment in delivering quality healthcare services.
The programme enhanced participants’ awareness of the diverse roles played by pharmacists in humanitarian healthcare, clinical practice, patient-centred services, and public health initiatives. Through the discussion, participants developed a broader understanding of how pharmacists can contribute to improving healthcare accessibility, supporting patients, promoting preventive health practices, and responding to community healthcare needs.
