Free Health Checkup Camp

Free Health Checkup Camp Allied Health Sciences Lions’ Club of Calcutta Circular IRCS 16-08-2026

The Department of Allied Health Sciences, Brainware University, in collaboration with the Lions Club and the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), organised a one-day free eye screening and health check-up camp to promote preventive healthcare and health awareness among community members. The initiative aimed to provide basic eye screening and health assessments, encourage healthy lifestyle practices, and facilitate the early identification of common health and vision-related concerns. The camp included participant registration, demographic data collection, blood pressure and basic vital parameter measurements, eye screening, vision assessment, and health education on eye care and preventive healthcare. Faculty members and student volunteers actively participated in the screening and community outreach activities.

The camp successfully provided basic healthcare services and awareness to 159 participants. It encouraged regular health check-ups, timely medical consultation, and greater awareness of preventive healthcare practices. The initiative also offered students valuable practical exposure to community healthcare services while strengthening university–community engagement. The programme supported SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through preventive healthcare awareness and SDG 4 (Quality Education) through experiential learning.
