Free Eye Screening & Mental Health Awareness Camp Allied Health Sciences The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) 20.06.2026


The Department of Allied Health Sciences, Brainware University, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), organized a community outreach health camp aimed at promoting preventive healthcare and increasing awareness among local residents. The initiative focused on providing basic eye screening and facilitating the early identification of common vision-related concerns. The programme also provided Allied Health Sciences students with valuable experiential learning opportunities under faculty supervision, strengthening the connection between academic learning and community healthcare. The camp commenced with participant registration and demographic data collection, followed by systematic eye screening and vision assessment conducted by faculty members and student volunteers.

The outreach initiative successfully promoted awareness regarding preventive eye care and the importance of timely medical consultation. Local residents actively participated in the screening process and appreciated the healthcare services provided through the programme. The camp aligned with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by promoting accessible preventive healthcare and early identification of vision-related concerns, and SDG 4: Quality Education by providing students with practical exposure to community-based healthcare. Overall, the programme reflected the university’s commitment to community engagement, preventive healthcare, and experiential learning.
