Free Eye Screening & Health Check-up Camp Allied Health Sciences The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) 08-07-2026
The Department of Allied Health Sciences, Brainware University, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), successfully organized a Free Eye Screening & Health Check-up Camp on 8th July 2026 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Akandaberia High School, Haroa, North 24 Parganas.
The outreach initiative witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students from BAOTT, BPA, BMLS, BCCT, BPT, and Optometry, who worked under the guidance of faculty members and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive health services to school students.
A wide range of essential health screening services were offered, including vision assessment (eye screening), measurement of height and weight, blood pressure monitoring, hemoglobin estimation, blood group determination, pulse oximetry assessment, and medical consultation by doctors. The camp aimed to promote early identification of health concerns, create awareness regarding preventive healthcare, and encourage timely medical intervention among the young beneficiaries.
Beyond delivering healthcare services, the camp served as an excellent experiential learning platform for Allied Health Sciences students, enabling them to apply their academic knowledge in real-world community settings while strengthening their clinical, communication, and patient-care skills.
The programme reflected the Department’s continued commitment to community outreach and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, by promoting preventive healthcare and improving access to basic health services, and Goal 4: Quality Education, by providing students with meaningful hands-on learning experiences through community engagement.
