The Department of Allied Health Sciences at Brainware University, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) and Mononiketan, successfully organized a Free Eye Screening Camp and Mental Health Awareness Programme at Noorpur Panchanan Paik Smriti Vidyalaya on July 7, 2026. The outreach initiative aimed to promote eye health and mental well-being among school students through preventive healthcare, early screening, and awareness.

The programme included vision screening and an interactive mental health awareness session focused on emotional well-being, stress management, and the importance of seeking timely support. Optometry students actively participated under the guidance of faculty members and healthcare professionals, assisting with vision assessments, participant coordination, and awareness activities. The initiative provided valuable hands-on clinical exposure while strengthening students’ commitment to community service and patient care.

Aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education), the programme successfully combined experiential learning with meaningful community engagement, reinforcing Brainware University’s commitment to preventive healthcare, health education, and social responsibility.
