Free eye screening and Mental Health Awareness camp Allied Health Sciences 30.06.2026
The Department of Allied Health Sciences, Brainware University, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), organized a school outreach health camp aimed at promoting preventive healthcare and creating awareness among school students. Aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education), the camp focused on basic vision screening and the early identification of common vision-related issues among children and adolescents. The initiative also emphasized the importance of healthy lifestyle practices, vision care, mental well-being, and timely medical consultation. It provided Allied Health Sciences students with valuable hands-on exposure to community-based healthcare practices under faculty supervision.
The programme commenced with participant registration and demographic data collection, followed by systematic health screening conducted by faculty members and student volunteers from the Department of Allied Health Sciences and Mononiketan. The activities included eye screening and vision assessment, along with mental health awareness and counselling for the participating students. The camp was conducted efficiently with active involvement from faculty members, student volunteers, school authorities, and collaborating organizations. The beneficiaries actively participated in the programme and appreciated the initiative, which contributed to strengthening preventive healthcare awareness, vision care, and mental well-being among school students while providing students with meaningful experiential learning opportunities.
