
First Aid Essentials For Skills Students Nursing Indian Red Cross Society 16.06.2026
The Institute of Nursing, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, organized “First Aid Essentials for Skills Students” on 16 June 2026 to equip skill development students with fundamental first aid knowledge and practical life-saving skills. The programme aimed to build confidence in responding to common injuries and medical emergencies while promoting community safety and emergency preparedness.
The session featured expert demonstrations, hands-on training, and interactive discussions on wound care, bleeding control, burn management, fracture stabilization, and emergency response protocols. Participants gained practical experience in delivering immediate care while understanding the importance of prioritizing safety and seeking timely professional medical assistance.
The initiative successfully empowered students to serve as confident first responders in emergency situations, reinforcing the importance of practical health education and community awareness. The programme aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting life-saving skills and inclusive experiential learning.
