
FDP on Emerging Trends in AI: Data-Driven Research and Semiconductor Applications Computer Science & Engineering in Collaboration with SR University 30-12-2025 to 04-01-2026
The Faculty Development Program on “Data-Driven Research and Semiconductor Applications” aimed to provide educators and researchers with a comprehensive understanding of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming modern science and industrial hardware. The program served as a bridge between theoretical AI models and practical implementation by exploring data-driven methodologies that enhance every phase of the research lifecycle—from predictive modeling to automated discovery.
A key focus of the session was the intersection of AI and the semiconductor industry, emphasizing how AI-driven algorithms optimize VLSI design, improve chip manufacturing efficiency, and contribute to the development of next-generation intelligent hardware. By fostering industry–academia collaboration, the program empowered participants to integrate cutting-edge advancements into both curriculum design and research initiatives. Upon completion, participants gained the ability to proficiently integrate data-driven methodologies and AI tools into their research workflows and classroom instruction. They developed technical expertise in leveraging AI for optimizing VLSI design, accelerating semiconductor materials discovery, and enhancing manufacturing yield through predictive analytics. The FDP also encouraged faculty members to explore interdisciplinary research opportunities that align academic work with evolving industry needs. Ultimately, participants emerged equipped to modernize their engineering curricula, preparing students to thrive in an AI-driven semiconductor ecosystem and future-ready research environment.
