Extempore Competition 2026 on the occasion of National Mental Health Awareness Day Mononiketan Competition 07-08-2026

Mononiketan – Mental Health & Wellness Centre, Brainware University, organized the Extempore Competition 2026 on the occasion of National Mental Health Awareness Day. The initiative provided students with an engaging platform to express their perspectives on mental health and emotional well-being through spontaneous speaking. The programme aimed to promote awareness and open conversations around mental health, encourage confident self-expression and effective communication, develop spontaneous thinking, creativity, and public-speaking skills, and foster a supportive and mentally healthy campus environment.

The competition followed a chit-based extempore format, wherein participants randomly selected topics related to general mental health. Each participant was given one minute for preparation and two minutes for presentation. Participants were free to express their views in a language of their choice, with no language barrier. The competition provided a meaningful opportunity for students to engage with mental health themes while strengthening their confidence, communication, creativity, and spontaneous thinking. Overall, the initiative contributed to greater mental health awareness and encouraged a more open, supportive, and inclusive campus community.
