
Empower Ability: Awareness Role Play on Care of Children with Special Needs Institute of Nursing Indian Red Cross Society 23.06.2026
The Institute of Nursing, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, organized the “Noncommunicable Disease Awareness for Skills Faculties” programme on 23rd June 2026. The seminar aimed to enhance awareness among faculty members regarding the prevention and management of common noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). The session focused on major risk factors associated with lifestyle-related disorders, the importance of balanced nutrition and regular physical activity, early warning signs of hypertension and diabetes, and the benefits of routine health screenings. The programme included an inauguration, briefing, step-by-step demonstrations, hands-on activities, interactive discussions, Q&A, and a vote of thanks.
The programme successfully enhanced the health literacy and preventive awareness of the participating faculty members and encouraged them to adopt healthier lifestyle practices. It also highlighted the role of educators in promoting healthy and stress-free academic environments. The initiative aligned with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by promoting preventive healthcare and awareness of chronic lifestyle diseases, while supporting SDG 4: Quality Education through practical health education for educators. Overall, the programme contributed to fostering a culture of preventive healthcare and well-being within the university community.
