CPR Awareness: Creating Foundation For Youth Nursing 25.06.2026
The Institute of Nursing, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, organized the outreach programme “CPR Awareness: Creating Foundation for Youth” on 25th June 2026 at Barasat Girls High School. The programme aimed to introduce school students to the fundamentals of basic cardiac life support and develop their confidence in responding to emergency situations. The session focused on explaining hands-only CPR through simple and practical steps, identifying an unresponsive person, ensuring scene safety, and promptly seeking professional medical assistance. The initiative also emphasized the importance of developing a sense of civic responsibility among young learners and reducing hesitation in responding to emergencies.
The programme successfully created awareness among students regarding basic emergency response and the importance of timely intervention during cardiac emergencies. Through practical demonstrations and interactive learning, the participants gained a better understanding of how to respond calmly and responsibly during critical situations. The initiative supported SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by promoting life-saving health awareness and SDG 4: Quality Education by providing students with practical, lifelong emergency-response skills.
