The Institute of Nursing at Brainware University commemorated International Nurses Day on May 12, 2026, with the “Celebration of Nurses’ Day: 6th Lamplighting and Oath Taking Ceremony”—a solemn and memorable occasion marking the formal induction of nursing students into the healthcare profession. The ceremony symbolized the students’ commitment to the enduring legacy of Florence Nightingale, embracing the values of compassionate care, professional excellence, and dedicated service to humanity.

The event featured a series of meaningful and celebratory activities, including an inaugural session, opening dance, Oath Taking Ceremony, academic and extracurricular award distribution, Ms. Freshers crowning, Nurses’ Day felicitation, fun activity session, dance drama performance, feedback session, and vote of thanks. The symbolic lamplighting ceremony and administration of the Nightingale Pledge stood as the highlights of the programme, reinforcing professional ethics, accountability, and the students’ transition from classroom learning to hands-on clinical practice.

Aligned with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 4: Quality Education, the ceremony reflected Brainware University’s commitment to nurturing skilled and ethically grounded healthcare professionals.
