The “Care Behind the Scenes: Staff Wellness Programme” was organized to promote the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of non-academic staff members, who play an essential role in the smooth functioning of the institution. The programme focused on creating awareness about workplace stress, burnout, anxiety, and emotional exhaustion while encouraging participants to adopt healthy self-care practices and effective coping strategies.
The session featured a range of interactive and experiential activities. Participants engaged in movement relaxation activities, including gentle stretching, mindful movement, and breathing exercises to release physical tension and promote relaxation. An art-based wellness activity encouraged participants to express their thoughts and emotions creatively while fostering self-reflection and stress relief. The music therapy session used calming music and guided listening to promote relaxation, enhance mood, and create a sense of emotional comfort. The programme also included psychoeducation and interactive discussions on stress, burnout, anxiety, and emotional exhaustion, helping participants recognize signs of psychological distress and understand healthy ways of managing them.
The programme successfully created a supportive space for non-academic staff members to pause, reflect, and focus on their well-being. Through a combination of movement, creative expression, music, and psychoeducation, participants gained practical strategies for managing stress and maintaining emotional balance. The initiative reinforced the importance of self-care, resilience, and a supportive workplace environment in promoting overall wellness and productivity.
