Beyond Pink and Blue: Gender Sensitization through Inclusive Communication Hospital Management Gender Sensitization Cell Brainware University 21.08.2026
The Department of Hospital Management, in collaboration with the Gender Sensitization Cell (GSC), Brainware University, organized a seminar titled “Beyond Pink and Blue: Gender Sensitization through Inclusive Communication” on 21 August 2026 at Building III, Room No. 405, Brainware University. The seminar focused on promoting awareness of gender sensitivity and equality while encouraging participants to recognize and challenge gender stereotypes, unconscious biases, and discriminatory communication. The programme highlighted the importance of respectful, inclusive, and non-discriminatory language in academic, professional, and social settings and emphasized the need to create an environment where individuals are treated with dignity, equality, and mutual respect. The initiative supported SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by promoting inclusive education, gender equality, and practices that help reduce social exclusion.
The seminar featured an interactive session on gender sensitization and inclusive communication, covering gender stereotypes, unconscious biases, respectful language, and the role of communication in fostering inclusive environments. Participants engaged in discussions and exchanges on everyday examples of gender-based assumptions and discriminatory communication, while also exploring practical approaches to adopting gender-sensitive communication in educational institutions and workplaces. Faculty members and students actively participated and shared their perspectives and experiences. The programme successfully enhanced awareness of gender equality and inclusive communication, encouraged participants to critically examine existing stereotypes, and promoted respectful and non-discriminatory practices. Overall, the seminar contributed to fostering a safer, more inclusive academic environment and reinforced the university’s commitment to equality, social inclusion, dignity, and respect for all.
