Where Law, Sustainability and Scholarship Converge at 2-Day Zonal Conference 

The School of Law at Brainware University recently hosted a thought-provoking 2-Day Zonal Conference on ‘Realisation in the Framework of Sustainability.’ The conference brought together eminent jurists, administrators, academicians, and aspiring legal professionals for meaningful dialogue on law, environment, and sustainable development.

The event began on an inspiring note as Hon’ble Chancellor Phalguni Mookhopadhayay warmly welcomed Sudhendu Mondal, Former Director of the National Library of India, marking the start of two days of intellectual exchange.

Adding to the prestige of the occasion, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Sankar Gangopadhayay extended a distinguished welcome to the Chief Guest, Madhumati Mitra, Retired Judge of the Calcutta High Court and Judicial Member of the West Bengal Human Rights Commission.

The conference was further enriched by the presence of distinguished Guests of Honour including Manas Kumar Pal, Retired District and Sessions Judge, West Bengal; Sudhendu Mondal, Former Director, National Library and academic leader associated with Visva-Bharati University and Sidho Kanho Birsha University; Ashoke Sanyal, Former Director of the Zoological Survey of India under the Ministry of Environment & Forests; Shymal Ghatak, Advocate and Executive Chairman of the Bar Council of West Bengal; and Singaram Kulandaivel, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forest, Government of West Bengal.

A special highlight of the conference was the launch of Science & Culture, celebrating the spirit of interdisciplinary scholarship and intellectual exploration.

Throughout the event, the aspiring legal professionals of the School of Law actively engaged with these distinguished personalities, gaining valuable insights into law, governance, environmental responsibility, and sustainability.
