Sweet Spot Health Fest – Free Diabetes Checkup Camp
The Department of Allied Health Sciences, Brainware University, organized the “Sweet Spot Health Fest – Free Diabetes Checkup Camp” on 14th November 2025 across several Kolkata Metro stations (from Shyambazar to Sahid Khudiram) to observe World Diabetes Day. Coordinated by Ms. Debolina Kumar, with active support from Ms. Monalisa Panda and Ms. Sayani Sarkar, the initiative involved 50 students from the BPA and BOTT programs.
The camp aimed to promote preventive healthcare and raise awareness about diabetes among the general public. Activities included free blood sugar and blood pressure screening, risk profiling, and personalized health counseling focusing on lifestyle and dietary management. Short awareness sessions were also conducted to educate commuters on early detection and prevention strategies.
Aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education), the event combined community service with experiential learning, empowering students with hands-on healthcare exposure while contributing to public wellness. The initiative effectively spread awareness, encouraged proactive health monitoring, and reaffirmed Brainware University’s commitment to building a healthier, more informed society.
