Because water is not just a resource – it’s a responsibility
The Centre for Multidisciplinary Research and Innovation (CMRI) in collaboration with IQAC hosted a thought-provoking seminar on ‘Municipal and Industrial Waste Water Management’, featuring Prof. Arunabha Majumder, Emeritus Professor, School of Water Resources Engineering, Jadavpur University.
Prof. Majumder addressed critical issues like urban sewage planning, sustainable wastewater reuse, and the urgent need for integrated waste management systems in industrial zones. His insights highlighted how poorly treated waste not only pollutes natural resources but also endangers human health, and how innovation and planning must go hand in hand to tackle these challenges.
The session witnessed a full house of curious minds as Prof. Dr. Atiskumar Chattopadhyay, representing CMRI, emphasised Brainware’s commitment to interdisciplinary research and practical learning. From greywater recycling to eco-centric urban development, students engaged with real-world problems and explored how science, policy, and community action must intersect to build a sustainable future.
