KRISHI-O-UDYAN MELA 2026

KRISHI-O-UDYAN MELA 2026 Agriculture with Institution Innovation Council 28-02-2026

“Krishi-O-Udyan Mela,” organized by the Department of Agriculture, Brainware University, at the Volleyball Court, BWU, on 28 February 2026, was conceived as a platform to integrate modern agricultural and horticultural innovations with grass-root stakeholders under the theme “Agriculture / Horticulture for Start-up and Stand-up West Bengal.” The event directly resonates with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) through the promotion of improved, climate-resilient and productive farming practices; SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by encouraging agripreneurship and start-up culture in agriculture and allied sectors; SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by highlighting technology-driven solutions and institutional support systems; and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by fostering awareness on resource-efficient, sustainable production systems. By bringing together dignitaries, faculty, students, farmers, sponsors and technology providers on a common platform, the mela aimed to create an enabling ecosystem where knowledge dissemination, skill development and networking collectively contribute to sustainable agricultural development in the region.
