Seminar on Career Guidance in the Pharmaceutical Sector
The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Brainware University, organized a seminar on Career Guidance for Individuals with Technical Skills in the Pharmaceutical Sector. The session aimed to provide valuable insights and practical advice to help students navigate and excel in their professional journey within this specialized field.
Mr. Avisek Dutta, Director – Service Operations, IQVIA, Kolkata, was the Chief Speaker of the event. He was accompanied by Ms. Piyali Pramanik, Team Lead, and Mr. Subhradeep Gupta, Team Manager, from Cognizant, Kolkata, as co-speakers.
The seminar focused on guiding students in choosing the right career path, developing the necessary knowledge, skills, and aptitude to meet industry demands, and preparing for campus recruitment through expert interaction.
Dr. Prasenjit Mondal, Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, welcomed and felicitated the guests. Mr. Dutta emphasized the importance of Pharmacovigilance in improving patient safety and public health through the responsible use of medicines. He also conducted a session titled “Deep Focus – Unlocking Career Potential.”
Ms. Pramanik provided a detailed presentation on Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSR) and their role in pharmacovigilance, while Mr. Gupta elaborated on Recent Developments in Generative AI in Pharmacovigilance.
The event aligned with SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, promoting awareness, innovation, and technical skill enhancement among students for future industry readiness.
