Ideation Workshop: “Seed the Science – Biotech Ideation Boot Camp”
The Department of Biotechnology, Brainware University, organized an Ideation Workshop titled “Seed the Science: Biotech Ideation Boot Camp” on 20 November 2025 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. under the coordination of Dr. Sambit Datta and Dr. Anusuya Debnath, with support from Dr. Samrat Paul. The event, held at the university campus, witnessed the participation of 47 undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Aligned with the national e-YUVA innovation program, the boot camp encouraged young innovators to design biotechnology-based solutions for environmental challenges such as waste management, pollution control, and sustainability. A total of 13 student teams presented their ideas through interactive pitching sessions before an expert panel.
Team SAAS won the Best Idea Award for their project “Silent Killer in the Sky: Air Pollution,” while Team Morphogen received the Best Feasible Project Award for “Hybrid Bioceramic Capture Beads (HBCB).”
The workshop successfully fostered creativity, teamwork, and scientific problem-solving, enhancing students’ confidence and innovation skills. It also strengthened their preparedness for national-level innovation initiatives like e-YUVA, reaffirming the department’s commitment to hands-on learning and research-driven education.
