Exploring Sustainable Innovations: Exposure Visit to ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology (NINFET) Biotechnology with ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology 19-02-2026
An exposure visit was organized for B.Sc. Biotechnology 4th Semester students (2024, Sec A & B)
to the ICAR – National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology, located at
Ashoknagar, Regent Park, Kolkata. The institute is a premier research center dedicated to natural
fibre engineering, particularly jute research and technological advancement.
During the visit, an overview of the institute’s history and significance was provided. The institute
has played a crucial role in research and development related to natural fibres, especially jute,
contributing significantly to fibre quality improvement, advanced processing techniques, and
sustainable industrial applications in India.
