The event featured various interactive activities focused on spreading awareness among students about the urgent need for water protection. A poster-making competition titled “Every Drop Counts: Conserve Water, Sustain Life” encouraged students to creatively express the scarcity and value of water resources. Additionally, an essay writing competition on “Water Crisis: Challenges and Solutions for a Sustainable Future” provided participants with the opportunity to critically analyse global water issues and propose innovative ideas for sustainable water management. Dr. Sambit Datta, IIC Ambassador and Assistant Professor, Dept. of Biotechnology, delivered valuable insights on water-related challenges and the role of youth in promoting water conservation. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Anusuya Debnath, who ensured the smooth execution of the activities. Overall, the event successfully raised awareness, promoted student engagement, and reinforced the importance of responsible water usage as a collective responsibility. The initiative contributed to building environmental consciousness in alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.
