“Seminar – ExtensionShield: Browser Extension Security & Privacy” CSE-CS & DS 28-08-2026
The Department of CSE – CS & DS, Brainware University, in association with the Brainware ACM Student Chapter, organised an online seminar on “ExtensionShield: Browser Extension Security & Privacy” for B.Tech. CSE – Cybersecurity Semester V students. Conducted through Google Meet and led by Mr. Stanzin Norzang, the session focused on the security and privacy challenges associated with browser extensions and introduced students to the functionalities, scope, and applications of ExtensionShield. The seminar also highlighted emerging cybersecurity concerns, open-source development, collaborative coding, and opportunities for security research, with approximately 42 participants gaining practical exposure to contemporary cybersecurity concepts and technologies.
The seminar enhanced students’ awareness of browser extension security and privacy risks while helping them connect academic concepts with practical cybersecurity applications. Participants gained insights into ExtensionShield, open-source development, collaborative technical projects, and emerging areas of security research. The interaction also encouraged students to explore open-source contributions and real-world cybersecurity initiatives, strengthening their understanding of contemporary practices and project-based learning in the field.
