Every Second Matters: CPR Awareness for Young Lifesavers Institute of Nursing Indian Red Cross Society 20.08.26
The Institute of Nursing, Brainware University, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), organised the outreach programme “Every Second Matters: CPR Awareness for Young Lifesavers” on 20 August 2026 at Natagarh Swami Vivekananda Seva Samity Vidyalaya (HS) Coed School, Panihati. The programme aimed to create awareness among school students about cardiac emergencies, the importance of timely intervention, and the basic principles of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Through an inauguration, briefing, step-by-step demonstrations, hands-on CPR practice, interactive discussions, and a question-and-answer session, the students gained practical knowledge and confidence to respond effectively during emergency situations. With the participation of 56 external beneficiaries, the initiative promoted a culture of safety, preparedness, and responsible community engagement while supporting SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education). The programme successfully reinforced the message that timely CPR and immediate action can play a crucial role in saving lives before professional medical assistance arrives.
