Ek Boond Mamta Ki: A celebration of Breastfeeding Institute of Nursing 07.08.26
The Institute of Nursing, Brainware University, organised the outreach activity “Ek Boond Mamta Ki: A Celebration of Breastfeeding” on 7th August, 2026 at Vivekananda Bhavan, Brainware University, with the participation of 50 B.Sc. Nursing VI Semester students. The programme aimed to promote awareness about the nutritional, immunological, developmental, and emotional benefits of breastfeeding while encouraging healthy infant-feeding practices. Through an interactive health-awareness session, participants were guided on exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, appropriate breastfeeding practices, proper positioning and attachment, and the continuation of breastfeeding alongside complementary feeding after six months. The session also addressed common misconceptions and challenges related to breastfeeding and highlighted the important role of families and healthcare professionals in supporting breastfeeding mothers. Aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education), the initiative provided valuable health education and reinforced the Institute of Nursing’s commitment to promoting maternal and child health and community well-being.
