National Seminar on “Sustainable Agro-Food Advancement through Traditional Heritage and Indigenous Knowledge (SAATHI)” Agriculture Institution’s Innovation Council 19-11-2025
The National Seminar on “Sustainable Agro-Food Advancement through Traditional Heritage and Indigenous Knowledge (SAATHI)” was organised on 19th November 2025 at the UB-II Auditorium, Brainware University, Barasat, West Bengal, with the aim of promoting sustainable agriculture and food systems through the integration of traditional practices and modern approaches. The seminar brought together distinguished experts and resource persons from various agricultural institutions who shared valuable insights on agricultural biotechnology, vegetable science, sustainable farming, and the role of indigenous knowledge in ensuring food security and agricultural sustainability. The programme commenced with a formal inauguration, including the lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Soham Hazra, Organising Secretary, and a series of informative plenary sessions. A networking lunch provided participants with an opportunity to exchange ideas and strengthen professional connections, while the seminar concluded with the distribution of awards and certificates. Overall, the event provided a meaningful platform for researchers, educators, and practitioners to exchange knowledge and explore ways to bridge traditional heritage with modern agricultural technologies for a more sustainable and resilient agro-food future.
