International Seminar on Migration, Human Rights and Social Justice in Contemporary Times Law 20-09-2025
The seminar on “Migration, Human Rights and Social Justice in Contemporary Times” was organised to examine the complex social, political, and humanitarian dimensions of migration in the contemporary world. With increasing displacement, refugee crises, and cross-border movements, the seminar provided an important platform to explore the protection of human rights and the promotion of social justice for vulnerable communities. Dr. Richard L. Benkin, an internationally renowned human rights activist, shared valuable perspectives on the challenges associated with migration, including exploitation, discrimination, and the denial of fundamental rights. The session also aimed to help students understand the role of law, policy, and advocacy in safeguarding human dignity, promoting inclusivity, and addressing global humanitarian concerns.
During the seminar, Dr. Benkin discussed the violence faced by Hindus in Bangladesh, drawing attention to concerns surrounding minority communities, persecution, and displacement.
