Exposure Visit to the 3rd National Lok Adalat 2026- Barasat Court Department of Law 12-09-2026
On 12th September 2026, 28 law students from Brainware University, along with a faculty member, visited the Lok Adalat at Barasat District Court to learn about how disputes are settled outside regular courts. The visit helped the students observe the informal, fast, and cost-effective processes of the Lok Adalat, where cases like motor vehicle claims, civil disputes, pre-litigation bank matters and family matters were being handled. The Lok Adalat, organized by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), North 24 Parganas, provided them with real-world experience in resolving disputes through mutual agreement, avoiding lengthy court procedures. By observing the proceedings, the students gained a clear understanding of the system’s importance in delivering quick justice, especially for people from weaker sections of society. The visit enhanced their practical legal knowledge and taught them the value of alternative dispute resolution methods, which they can use in their future legal careers
